Aishvarya Arora (b. Hanumangarh, India) is a poet, teaching artist, and cultural organizer from Queens, New York.

In writing, their co-conspirators include activists like Leslie Feinberg, poets like Wanda Coleman, the natural landscapes of Ithaca and Queens, and the amoeba-like-way that language evolves in queer space.

Their collection, Mr. Time, was selected by Diannely Antigua as the winner of the Gold Line Press Poetry Contest and will be published in 2026.

They have received support from Brew & Forge, Tupelo Press’s Merrill Family Fellowship, the Fulbright Program, and the Asian American Writers’ Workshop, where they were a Poetry Coalition Fellow.

As a teaching artist, they’ve taught workshops with The Poetry Society of New York, The Poetry Foundation, The Kenyon Review Young Writers Workshop, and The Spring Writes Literary Festival.

Currently, Aishvarya lives in Ithaca, NY where they teach creative writing at Cornell University and run a micropress called Lavender Codex.
